2. Is safety training necessary for my building?

Emergency preparedness and exit strategy knowledge are mandated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

OSHA Code 1910.38(e): “Training. An employer with 10 or more employees must designate and train employees to assist in a safe and orderly evacuation of other employees.”

Additionally, there are local and state laws that require emergency preparedness training. Refer to our blog for updates and news about the latest safety training mandates.

3. Who has to participate?

All building tenants and occupants must participate in annual training. It is recommended that occupants of all size buildings regularly practice evacuation and emergency response procedures.

4. How long does it take to become certified?

Annual training is broken down into professionally animated modules that only take about 10 minutes to complete. Users can proceed at their own pace and complete all the modules in one sitting or in several sessions based on their preferred learning style and schedule. Because the system is online you can access your building specific training, receive your certification of completion instantly via email and be code compliant from any computer with internet connection anywhere on the planet. The system knows who you are, what building you reside in and tracks your training and reports it to your employer for easy compliance.

Fire Safety Directors and Floor Wardens have specialized training and testing. We provide free Fire Department access to verify fire life safety team members and documentation.

5. How often do I have to renew my certification?

Once a year, tenants should review the exit and emergency strategies shown in the tutorials and retake the tests for certification renewal.
